Drinking water

Sámara's tap water is safe to drink. Casa Tres Luces also has a whole-house filtration system, plus a dedicated filtered-water spigot at the kitchen sink.

Pool and beach gear

You're welcome to use the blue-and-white striped beach towels beneath the Pulposki painting in the main hallway. A cooler, beach tent, chairs, and wagon are stored along the side of the house. After a beach day, simply bring everything back to its storage area. As always, please keep an eye on children around the pool.

Fire and emergencies

The fire extinguisher is under the kitchen sink. For an immediate police, fire, or medical emergency in Costa Rica, call 9-1-1.

Medical help

For everyday medications and pharmacist guidance, Farmacia Don Gerardo and Farmacia Elimar are both in central Sámara. For non-emergency medical care, Dr. Freddy Soto and the Sámara Medical Center provide general consultations and can help coordinate care.

Around the Casa

Helpful notes for enjoying the Casa.

Outdoor lights

The outdoor-light switch is on the exterior wall to the right of the patio door.

Washer and dryer

Laundry is straightforward: use the normal washer setting with one scoop of powdered detergent. The washer uses cold water only. For the dryer, select mucho seco.

Septic system

Like most homes in Costa Rica, Casa Tres Luces uses a septic system. You'll find a wastebasket beside each toilet for toilet paper and hygiene products, which helps keep the system working well.

Propane

The main stove and outdoor grill both run on propane. If a tank happens to run low, just contact Sámara Rentals and the team will take care of it.

Water and electricity

Occasional water or electricity interruptions are part of life in Sámara. They are usually brief, and service often returns on its own. If an interruption lasts a while, message Sámara Rentals and the team can check on it.

Air conditioning

Each bedroom and the main living area has its own mini-split air conditioner operated by remote control. 22°C (72°F) is usually a comfortable setting. Closing exterior doors and windows helps the rooms cool quickly; when you head out, please switch the units off.

Televisions and streaming

All televisions at Casa Tres Luces are Samsung Smart TVs with Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime Video ready to use. Make yourself at home with your own streaming accounts, and please sign out before you leave.

Window alarms and rods

You're welcome to open the windows and enjoy the breeze. Switch the small white alarm unit off first. When you're finished, close the window, reset the alarm, and replace the security rod—an easy habit that offers a little extra peace of mind.

Trash and recycling

You'll find the outdoor trash and recycling cans at the front of the house. Full indoor bags can go directly into the appropriate can. Collection is Wednesday; secured lids help keep curious animals out.

Pool and garden service

Our pool and garden teams visit once each week to keep the outdoor areas in excellent condition. Don't be surprised if you see them—they are familiar with the property, work efficiently, and generally come and go quickly.

Using the safe

The safe is located in the back closet of the main bedroom. With the safe door open, press the red button inside its battery compartment. After the beep, enter your four-digit code and press the lock symbol. Close the door and turn the lever to lock it. To reopen, enter your code, press the lock symbol, and turn the lever. Before checkout, remove your belongings and leave the safe open.

House care

Casa Tres Luces is a smoke-free and pet-free home. The decorative beach hats and market bags are part of the Casa's collection, so please leave them in place. If something is damaged or goes missing, let the local team know so we can help.
